Taken Just in the Nick of Time

While walking down Maryland Avenue very early this morning I could see, even from three blocks away or so, that the US Naval Academy Chapel was still being bathed by the flood lights that accent it throughout the course of the evening. So I thought this scene would make for a good photograph if I could depict the Chapel under those lights just as the sun was breaking through the overcast morning sky to the east.
So I quickened my pace and hurried down to the end of Maryland Avenue, then turned on to Hanover Street where I positioned myself beneath the southwest side of the Chapel. After snapping off no more than two photographs I suddenly heard a loud click just as the flood lights surrounding the perimeter of the Chapel turned off. Wow what was I saying last week about timing in one’s photography?
Okay then its time to post today’s photo and then head back outside for even though it will be mostly cloudy throughout the day here in Annapolis the chance of rain appears to be slight at best.
